ഓസ്ളോ: പിറന്നാള്‍ ദിനത്തില്‍ അര്‍ധരാത്രി ആശംസയര്‍പ്പിച്ച് ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് സര്‍പ്റൈസ് കൊടുക്കാന്‍ ചെന്ന മുപ്പത്തേഴുകാരന്‍ ഭാര്യാപിതാവിന്‍െറ വെടിയേറ്റു മരിച്ചു. ഫ്ലോറിഡയിലെ ഗള്‍ഫ് ബ്രീസിലാണു സംഭവം.

നോര്‍വെയില്‍നിന്ന് 4500 മൈല്‍ ദൂരം വിമാനത്തില്‍ സഞ്ചരിച്ച് ഫ്ലോറിഡയിലെത്തിയ ക്രിസ്റ്റഫര്‍ ബെര്‍ഗനെ മോഷ്ടാവെന്നു തെറ്റിദ്ധരിച്ച് ഭാര്യാപിതാവ് റിച്ചാഡ് ഡെന്നിസ് വെടിവെക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച രാത്രി 11.30ന് വീടിന്‍െറ പിന്നിലെ വാതിലില്‍ തട്ടുന്നതു കേട്ടാണ് അറുപത്തിയൊന്നുകാരനായ റിച്ചാഡ് ഉണര്‍ന്നത്.

മോഷ്ടാക്കള്‍ ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു കരുതി കൈയില്‍ തോക്കുമായാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം വീടിനു പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയത്. വീടിനോടു ചേര്‍ന്ന കുറ്റിക്കാട്ടില്‍നിന്ന് ഒരാള്‍ ചാടിയെത്തുന്നതു കണ്ടതോടെ റിച്ചാഡ് നിറയൊഴിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. 62ാം പിറന്നാളിനു രാത്രി ആശംസ നേര്‍ന്ന് റിച്ചാഡിനെ അമ്പരപ്പിക്കാനെത്തിയ ക്രിസ്റ്റഫറിനാണു വെടിയേറ്റത്. നെഞ്ചില്‍ വെടിയേറ്റ ക്രിസ്റ്റഫര്‍ സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തുതന്നെ മരിച്ചു.

തന്‍െറ തോക്കിനിരയായത് മകളുടെ ഭര്‍ത്താവാണെന്നു റിച്ചാഡ് പിന്നീടാണ് അറിഞ്ഞത്. ഉടന്‍ ടവ്വല്‍കൊണ്ടു നെഞ്ചില്‍ അമര്‍ത്തി രക്തപ്രവാഹം തടയാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചു. തുടര്‍ന്നു പൊലീസിനെ വിളിച്ച് ക്രിസ്റ്റഫറിനെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവന്‍ രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
